ABOUT INES AND AVRON
Ines is lively, experienced, Salsa, Argentinian Tango and Spanish teacher born in Venezuela, South America. For Ines, her native country is one of great beauty and scenery, and its people are full of enthusiasm for dancing in everyday life. Her musical inspirations come from leading songwriters and performers such as Oscar D' Leon, Ruben Blades and Celia Cruz. Ines' enthusiasm for dance and Latin American culture naturally led her into a teaching career and she soon achieved her Cert. Ed. from Plymouth University. Since then she has worked at Saltash College, Stoke Damerel, Swarthmore Adult Education Centre, Devonport High School and many other institutions since 1991. During this period she has been a great motivator to other salsa teachers and has generously shared her culture with all whom she has worked with. Ines particularly enjoys teaching at colleges as this means she has good contact and relationships with many students who progress to higher levels at the end of each course. She also does workshops for schools, parties for her students, hotels leisure centers, bars, pubs, restaurants, as well as private teaching and fund raising for charities.
Avron is an experience teacher in jazz musician who has worked several years in schools with the Cornwall Music and Dance service and the Arts Council. He originally came from New York City, U.S.A to do his Ph.D. in Anthropology and Music. His long standing interest in Latin American music brought him to an association with Ines and he has been teaching with her since 2006.
