Can I come alone?

Yes, you can come alone.  You will join what we call the wheel.  This means you will interact, rotate and dance with different partners.  But it will be helpful if you bring a regular dancing partner, with whom you can also practice with between classes, as this is the best way to improve.

What do I wear?

Anything comfortable - casual or smart, if you wish - as you will get hot.  Comfortable shoes medium heel but not trainers.

Are dance shoes necessary and where do I purchase them?

They are advisable as they allow better movement and the best level of performance.  Please see my link.

How long will it take to do a beginners course?

A beginners level will take approx 12 weeks to complete.  It has two "Moves" within it.  "Move 1" - approx 6 weeks - has a number of sequences and a total of 12 figures;  "Move 2"- approx 6 weeks - has a number of sequences and a total of 12 figures.

How many sequences do we do weekly?

Every week we will briefly recap what we have learned perviously.  Once we have finished the revision we then go to new sequences.  Usually, we do 2 or 3 new sequences.  It all depends on the students' motivation and skills.

When would I become an Intermediate learner?

It depends on the individual.  When you feel confident you will know.

How do I know what level of dancer I am if I have already taken classes before?

Each instructor has his/her own style and teaching methods.  I recommend you revise the beginners level first and if you are capable to recognise the elementary moves thoroughly all then you will be able to move to the next level - Intermediate.

How long will it take to become a good dancer?

This depends on the individual and your motivation and ability.  The more practise that you get, the better you become.  Practise makes all the difference on how fast you progress to becoming a good dancer.

Practising with a regular dancing partner is the best way to improve.
